IS YOUR BAND THE RIGHT SIZE FOR MY EVENT?
Members of Stellar have performed for audiences from 10 to 10,000. We are a 6-piece band with a state of the art sound system that allows us to truly control our volume. We use in-ear monitors, which eliminate the need for loud floor monitors.
The sound system outlined above not only allows us to be quiet, but also very compact and space efficient when necessary. We typically ask for a 16’x20′ performance space but we can fit on a smaller stage or unusual spaces if necessary. We can make just about anything work.
WHAT INSTRUMENTS MAKE UP YOUR 6 PIECE BAND?
We have a female lead singer, male lead singer, one bass player, lead guitar player, a drummer, and keyboardist.
DO YOU HAVE AN OPTION TO INCLUDE A LIVE HORN SECTION?
Yes. We have a 3-piece horn section that is incredible! They really add a lot of power to the band's already Stellar level of play. While it's possible to cover all of the same songs without them, there's really nothing like having them on the gig.
HOW LONG WILL THE PERFORMANCE BE?
Every performance is sculpted with you to fit your schedule. We play for 3 hours total which we can coordinate with you to fit your event schedule. Normally, we play 4, 45 minute sets. If you have speeches or activities you would like to do during the performance, just let us know beforehand & we will schedule accordingly.
We can play for longer for an additional negotiated charge.
DO YOU OFFER BACKGROUND MUSIC FOR A DINNER OR COCKTAIL HOUR?
Yes. Once the Sound system is set up we will have music playing for your guests. If you have a specific playlist you would like us to use, just share it with us. If you would just like to give us a general idea of style, we can make it happen.
WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS FOR CEREMONY MUSIC?
There are several performers we work with that specialize in wedding ceremonies including a harpist, a violinist, a cellist as well a string quartet.
We contract with the best musician's in Maine.
WILL YOU PLAY SONGS THAT ARE NOT ON YOUR SONG LIST?
Yes. For weddings, the spotlight songs (1st Dance, Mother/Son, Father/ Daughter Dances) are very special songs. While we have played a lot of weddings, there are usually some requests in this area we haven't done. If we receive the spotlight songs request 4 months prior to the event, we will learn 2 songs as a gift to you. If we receive them 2 months prior to the event, we will learn one. Songs requested less than 2 months prior to the event can be learned for $250 per song.
CAN I CUSTOMIZE YOUR SET LIST?
Our standard wedding packages give you the option to offer your input for our performance song choices. We recommend picking your top 10 favorites and 10 not-so-favorites from our song list. This gives us a good idea of your preferences while still giving us the freedom to do what we do best — packing the dance floor!
WILL SOMEONE IN THE BAND MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS?
Yes, Stellar's bassist & musical director, AC Davis, will act as the Master of Ceremonies for your special day, and he will happily make any announcements to keep the event flowing if he is given the event schedule prior to the show.
DO YOU PROVIDE RECORDED MUSIC DURING YOUR BAND BREAKS?
Yes, we play music anytime we aren't onstage from a huge music collection as well as Apple Music, Spotify & Google Play. If you have specific playlists you would like us to play, just share it with us prior to the event.
WHAT WILL YOU WEAR FOR THE SHOW?
We normally wear black suits with black shirts & red or purple ties for the guys, & a black or white dress for the ladies.
If you would like us to wear something else, please let us know with plenty of time as we'll need to hit the tailor. (charges may apply)
DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN SOUND AND LIGHTING?
Yes. We provide all our own sound production, engineer, and stage lighting. If your event venue has a Sound System already in place, we're happy to use that as long as it is sufficient to the job. We might have to talk to the venue for specifics.
We can also provide additional sound systems for ceremonies, cocktail hours, DJ's, etc.
DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN STAGE?
No, we do not own or provide our own stage. However, we do not require a stage to perform. Having a stage is always preferred but optional.
DO YOU CARRY EVENT LIABILITY INSURANCE?
Yes, we carry our own policy & will provide a copy once the contract is signed.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Yes, we travel nationally on a regular basis, Internationally on occasion.
WHAT IS YOUR BOOKING PROCESS?
With a verbal agreement, you can secure the date of the event (if we aren't already booked), we will send you a questionnaire to get all of your information, build a quote for approval & then draw up a contract. Once you have reviewed the contract and the particulars have been finalized, you will sign using DocuSign electronic document services. We ask for a 50% deposit which can be a mailed check, bank draft or a credit card payment through the Quickbooks invoice. There is a 3% service fee for credit card transactions. You will be sent a fully executed contract upon receipt of your deposit. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to the performance as a check, bank draft or a credit card payment.
DO YOU HAVE A TECH RIDER SPECIFYING BAND NEEDS?
Yes, we will send it as soon as the contact is signed. Generally we only require access to the venue with ample time to set up/ sound check, a place for the band to change, as well as food & plenty of water.
